Why we love Ballard
There is no place quite like Ballard on a spring day (or any day for that matter). Walking along the locks and seeing the sun shine down over the crisp blue Puget Sound. Hearing the sound of boats gliding by and seeing Rays boathouse shining in the distance. Ballard is our home and we are so lucky that we get to spend our weeks in this little neighborhood.
With Ballard being an old Scandinavian community, you might find yourself at Yulefest in the winter, sight-seeing through the Nordic heritage museum in any season, or watching the exciting May 17th parade (also known as Syttende Mai) celebrating Norway’s independence.
The Ballard neighborhood is a tight-knit neighborhood offering a variety of activities to the community which include the famous year-round (yes, even when it is raining) Ballard Farmers Market. You can also take a gander with the family off to the stunning Golden Gardens beach park and grab a bite to eat afterwards at Patxi’s pizza for a delicious meal with the kids. Ballard ave also has a ton of hip date-night spots like Stoneburner, San Fermo, Bastille Cafe & Bar and many others.
